HOW TO BE THE BEST WEDDING GUEST

As we move into wedding season, not only are we gearing up to support amazing events, but lots of us are also getting ready to be a guest. Being a wedding guest is the most fun job so here are some awesome tips on how to be an amazing wedding guest. It’s not just the couple who’s got to keep it classy!

How to Be The Best Wedding Guest

June 9, 2023

RSVP as soon as you can

Don’t leave anyone guessing or needing to follow up. As soon as you know if you can or cannot make a wedding, RSVP through the provided method. Couples, and their families, put so much effort into planning the day - seating, meals, pictures— so don’t leave your best pals hanging as their list is already a mile long! Also, leave a nice note on the RSVP (if able) to show your appreciation and excitement! It goes a long way to keep their excitement up in the last few weeks when things can feel stressful.

LEAVE THE BAD VIBES AT THE DOOR

Sadly, it’s true, you very well might have some justifiable grievances with certain people on the guest list but now is not the time to bring those up or make any unnecessary scenes. Avoid tense situations and stick with your gang to keep those positive vibes flowing. Have fun with the people you love! We know you’ll do great, just keep it classy.

Don’t Delay!

This means following directions regarding the itinerary so you’re not holding up the ceremony, dinner, dancing, or anything else that is time sensitive. There's always another drink in the next room! Be courteous and kind.

Dress Codes & Dietaries

Be sure to follow the right dress code. This should be listed on the invitation or wedding website, so do your research! Still a bit unsure? Ask a family member or one of the members of the wedding party.

Avoid awkward moments at the table during dinner service. If you have dietary restrictions (allergies or intolerances or just a major aversion to something), let those be known well in advance by either letting the couple know, or telling your wait staff when you sit down for dinner. Running dinner service for a large group is certainly not easy so making it easier on them will allow everything to run much more smoothly!

Be Tender to Vendors

Remember that vendors are humans, too. We likely have been on our feet all day having barely taken a second to eat properly or stay hydrated. If you're nice to us, we'll often try to make your experience even better by snagging you that extra dessert or giving you a heads up on where to stand so you get first dibs to fill up on those hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour.

Winding paths carved through the property invited guests to meander slowly, prosecco in hand. Perfect for soaking it all in and for stunning drone shots like this.

The land was vast and full of possibilities, offering countless spots for portraits.
There was never any doubt where Ruby wanted to get married. No matter where life and careers had taken her and Derek around the world, her heart always led back to her parents’ family farm in Dundas, Ontario.

With only a warm fall color palett
Ruby and Derek’s wedding invitation struck the perfect balance between elegance and ease. A trellis-inspired border printed in warm terracotta ink paired beautifully with a golden yellow envelope, while a floral envelope liner added an unexpect
