RSVP as soon as you can
Don’t leave anyone guessing or needing to follow up. As soon as you know if you can or cannot make a wedding, RSVP through the provided method. Couples, and their families, put so much effort into planning the day - seating, meals, pictures— so don’t leave your best pals hanging as their list is already a mile long! Also, leave a nice note on the RSVP (if able) to show your appreciation and excitement! It goes a long way to keep their excitement up in the last few weeks when things can feel stressful.
LEAVE THE BAD VIBES AT THE DOOR
Sadly, it’s true, you very well might have some justifiable grievances with certain people on the guest list but now is not the time to bring those up or make any unnecessary scenes. Avoid tense situations and stick with your gang to keep those positive vibes flowing. Have fun with the people you love! We know you’ll do great, just keep it classy.
Don’t Delay!
This means following directions regarding the itinerary so you’re not holding up the ceremony, dinner, dancing, or anything else that is time sensitive. There's always another drink in the next room! Be courteous and kind.
Dress Codes & Dietaries
Be sure to follow the right dress code. This should be listed on the invitation or wedding website, so do your research! Still a bit unsure? Ask a family member or one of the members of the wedding party.
Avoid awkward moments at the table during dinner service. If you have dietary restrictions (allergies or intolerances or just a major aversion to something), let those be known well in advance by either letting the couple know, or telling your wait staff when you sit down for dinner. Running dinner service for a large group is certainly not easy so making it easier on them will allow everything to run much more smoothly!
Be Tender to Vendors
Remember that vendors are humans, too. We likely have been on our feet all day having barely taken a second to eat properly or stay hydrated. If you're nice to us, we'll often try to make your experience even better by snagging you that extra dessert or giving you a heads up on where to stand so you get first dibs to fill up on those hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour.
